1 Who we are

Shine Steer Car Clean ("Shine Steer", "we", "us" or "our") provides doorstep car-cleaning services across Bangalore through our website shinesteer.com and mobile apps.

For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (the "DPDP Rules"), Shine Steer acts as the Data Fiduciary in respect of personal data collected through cookies on our website.

Operated by Syty Infotech, registered office at No. 5BC-310, 3rd Block, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore, India – 560043.

2 What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags, software development kits (SDKs), and local storage — in this policy we refer to all of these as "cookies".

Cookies may be:

  • First-party cookies — set directly by Shine Steer.
  • Third-party cookies — set by service providers we use, such as analytics and advertising partners.
  • Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

3 Cookies & your privacy under Indian law

Where cookies collect information that can identify you — directly or in combination with other data (for example, online identifiers, device IDs, or IP-linked data) — that information is treated as personal data under the DPDP Act.

Consent basis. Under the DPDP Act, we rely on your consent as the basis for setting non-essential cookies. Your consent is sought through a clear, affirmative opt-in action. Strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the website to work, do not require consent but are explained here for transparency.

You can give, refuse, or withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Refusing non-essential cookies will not stop you from using the core parts of our website.

4 Cookies we use

The categories below describe the cookies and similar technologies on our website. Specific cookie names and lifespans may change as our service evolves; this table reflects categories and purposes.

Third-party services

Some cookies are set by third parties who process data under their own policies. We encourage you to review them:

  • Google (Analytics & Tag Manager): policies.google.com/privacy
  • Meta (Facebook Pixel): facebook.com/privacy/policy

5 How long cookies last

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device for a set period — typically from a few days up to 24 months, depending on the cookie and its purpose — unless you delete them earlier.

We retain cookie-derived personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, after which it is deleted in line with our retention practices described in our Privacy Policy.

6 Managing your cookie choices

You are in control of cookies. You can manage them in the following ways:

On our website

When you first visit, our consent banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via the "Cookie settings" option in the footer.

In your browser

Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies through their settings. Helpful guides:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the website works.

7 Your rights

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and how it is processed.
  • Request correction, completion, updating, or erasure of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent you have previously given for cookie-based processing.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
  • Readily available grievance redressal in respect of any act or omission regarding your personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will respond within the timelines required under applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.

8 Children's data

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly use cookies to track or build profiles of children (individuals under 18), and we do not direct targeted advertising at children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9 Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, seek your consent again. Please review this page periodically.
