1 Introduction

Shine Steer ("we", "us", or "our") operates a mobile application and website (the "Platform") through which users book doorstep car wash, detailing, and car-care services.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. By creating an account, booking a service, or making a payment, you agree to the practices described here.

This Platform is operated by Syty Infotech, No. 5BC-310, 3rd Block, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore, India – 560043, in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2 Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide, improve, and secure our services.

Information you give us

  • Account & contact details — name, mobile number, email address, and service address.
  • Vehicle details — make, model, colour, registration number, and condition notes.
  • Booking information — selected services, schedule, special instructions, and service history.
  • Communications — messages, reviews, ratings, and support requests.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data — device model, OS, app version, IP address, and in-app activity.
  • Location data — with your permission, to match you with nearby service partners.

Payment information

Payments are processed by PhonePe. We do not collect or store your card number, UPI PIN, CVV, or bank credentials. See Section 4.

3 How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account, and authenticate you.
  • Accept bookings, schedule service partners, and fulfil services.
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and handle refunds or cancellations.
  • Send booking confirmations, service updates, and account notices.
  • Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
  • Improve our services, prevent fraud, and keep the Platform secure.
  • Send promotional offers where you have not opted out.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

4 Payments & PhonePe

All in-app payments are handled through the PhonePe Payment Gateway. Your sensitive payment credentials are submitted directly to PhonePe and governed by PhonePe's own privacy policy.

What we receive. From the gateway we receive only a transaction status, a reference ID, the amount, and a masked payment descriptor — never your full card or UPI credentials.

We retain transaction references to support refunds and dispute resolution, as described in our Refund Policy.

5 Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed:

  • Service partners — assigned professionals receive your name, contact number, address, and vehicle details.
  • Technology providers — PhonePe, cloud hosting, analytics, and communication providers under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.

6 Data retention

We keep your information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Transaction records are retained as required by tax law (typically up to 8 years). When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

7 Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure to protect your information. PCI-DSS-relevant payment handling is performed by PhonePe. No method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8 Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Access and review the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent (for location or marketing) at any time.
  • Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Section 12).

9 Cookies & tracking

Our website and app may use cookies to remember preferences and understand Platform usage. You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings; disabling them may affect certain features.

10 Children's privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
